THREAD: Weird side effect from Vitamin C gummies? Anyone else?Started by OasisOliver

Hey everyone, been taking these vitamin C gummies for about a week now (the orange-flavored ones from the brand with the bear on it). They taste great and I feel like my immune system is better, but I've been having super vivid dreams every night! Like, last night I dreamed I was racing a giant squirrel through a forest made of gummy bears. It's not scary or anything, just really weird and intense. Has anyone else experienced this with vitamin C gummies? Is this normal?

Interesting, Oliver. I've been taking traditional vitamin C tablets for years and never had vivid dreams from them. But gummies are a different beast—they often have added sugars, artificial colors, and other ingredients that tablets don't. Have you checked the label for anything unusual? Maybe it's not the vitamin C itself but something else in the gummy formula. Personally, I stick to tablets to avoid these kinds of surprises.

Whoa, Oliver, I totally get it! I work night shifts and started taking vitamin C gummies a month ago to stay healthy. I've noticed my dreams are way more intense too, especially when I sleep during the day. Mine aren't as fun as yours though—last week I dreamed my cat was giving me a performance review at work. Maybe it's the combo of vitamin C and our sleep schedules? Or maybe the gummies just hit different. Either way, it's harmless but definitely odd.

Thanks for the replies! Quinn, I checked the label and it does have some extra stuff like gelatin and natural flavors, but nothing crazy. Pete, that's wild about your cat dream—sounds stressful for a nap! I'm glad I'm not alone though. I'll keep taking them since they seem to help, but maybe I'll avoid eating them right before bed. Anyone else notice bright orange urine? Mine's been a bit neon lately, but I heard that's normal with vitamin C.

Bright urine is completely normal with high-dose vitamin C—it's just your body excreting the excess. That's a known effect. But the vivid dreams? Still skeptical. If it persists, you might consider switching to a pure ascorbic acid tablet. Less exciting, but more predictable. As my grandma always said, 'If it ain't broke, don't fix it with gummies.'
