THREAD: Traveling with Vitamin D Gummies - Do They Melt? TSA Tips?Started by OP

Hey everyone! I'm planning a trip that involves flying, some road tripping, and maybe a little hiking. I take vitamin D gummies daily and don't want to miss them. Has anyone traveled with these? Do they melt in heat? What about TSA rules - can I just toss them in my carry-on? Any storage tips for keeping them fresh on the go? Thanks!

Great question! As someone who's obsessed with texture and taste, I can tell you - YES, they can get melty and weird. I made the mistake of leaving my gummies in a hot car during a road trip last summer. They turned into a sticky, clumped mess and the flavor was off. My tip: keep them in their original bottle (TSA is usually fine with supplements in carry-ons if they're properly labeled), and store them in the coolest part of your bag. Maybe even toss the bottle in a small insulated lunch bag if you're hiking in heat. Nobody wants gummy mush!

Marathon runner here - I travel with supplements all the time for races! TSA has never questioned my vitamin D gummies in my carry-on (I keep them in the original container just in case). For heat: they're more stable than chocolate, but prolonged heat will degrade them. On hiking trips, I put the bottle in a ziplock and keep it in the middle of my pack, away from direct sun. Road trip pro-tip: don't leave them in the glove box! The dashboard or trunk gets crazy hot. Safe travels!

Weekend warrior checking in! I took my gummies on a camping trip last month - flew there, then drove to the trailhead. No issues with TSA at all. They didn't fully melt, but they did get a little softer and stick together when left in my backpack during a warm hike. Now I just keep them in a small hard-sided container (like an old pill bottle) inside my bag. Helps with crushing too! For flights, I throw the bottle in my carry-on and have never been stopped. Have fun on your adventure!
