THREAD: OLLY Sleep Gummies - Are we just eating candy with benefits?Started by PurePete

Hey all, just tried these OLLY Sleep gummies for my night shifts. They work okay for sleep, but I'm kinda worried about the sugar content. 2g per serving? That's like candy! Are we just fooling ourselves with these 'gummy' supplements? I get the convenience, but shouldn't health stuff be, you know, healthier? What's next, melatonin lollipops?

Pete, I feel you, but as someone who works 60+ hour weeks, I NEED the convenience. I tried melatonin pills before and kept forgetting them. These gummies are right by my bed, taste good (blackberry is legit), and I actually remember to take them. Yeah, 2g sugar isn't ideal, but it's less than a soda, and I'm sleeping better. Sometimes purity has to take a backseat to actually using the product.

As a mom, this 'candy-fication' of supplements worries me. My teen saw these and asked if they were 'sleep candy.' We should be teaching kids that medicine isn't candy! I'd rather use traditional chamomile tea - no sugar, no artificial anything. These gummies feel like a marketing gimmick targeting busy people who don't read labels. The extracts might be real, but why coat them in sugar?

Okay but as a broke student, these are actually affordable? Like $15 for 30 days vs. $30 for fancy pills. The sugar doesn't bother me that much - it's less than my morning cereal lol. And they work! I was pulling all-nighters and now I actually sleep. Maybe not perfect, but better than nothing when you're on a budget. Nancy, I get your point, but not everyone can afford 'pure' options.

Ursula makes a good point about cost - didn't think of that. Maybe I'm being too purist. Zoe, you're right that actually taking them matters. But Nancy, I worry about the candy association too. Maybe there's a middle ground? Like lower-sugar versions? Still, for now, I'll keep using them on shifts - better than being exhausted and reaching for energy drinks with WAY more sugar.
