THREAD: My kid thinks the OLLY sleep gummies are candy - help!Started by OP

Hey everyone, need some advice or maybe just to vent! My 6-year-old found my bottle of OLLY Sleep gummies and thought they were candy. He ate like 3 before I caught him. He was fine (just extra sleepy at 4pm lol), but now he keeps asking for 'the blackberry candy' and I'm worried he'll sneak more. Anyone else deal with this? They do look tasty tbh.

OMG yes! My husband did the same thing last month - thought they were gummy bears and ate a handful while watching TV. He was knocked out by 8pm and missed his show ๐Ÿ˜‚. I had to hide them in a locked cabinet after that. Honestly, why do they make supplements look so much like candy? It's asking for trouble with kids around.

As someone who cooks a lot, I get the appeal of the gummy format, but texture can be tricky! My niece refuses to eat any gummy vitamins because she says they're 'too chewy and weird' compared to real candy. Maybe try telling your kid they're 'special grown-up gummies'? Or mix them into a smoothie if texture is the issue - the melatonin should still work.

Marathon runner here - I use these for recovery sleep! But yeah, they're definitely not candy. I keep mine in my gym bag so my kids never see them. Maybe try a high-up shelf? Also, 3mg melatonin is no joke for a kid - glad yours was okay. Might be worth a call to your pediatrician just to be safe.

Thanks all! Locking them up is a good idea - I'll move them tonight. And @SupplementSteve43, the smoothie trick might work if he refuses them later (right now he's too interested ๐Ÿ˜…). @EarthElias, already called the doc and they said he should be fine but to monitor. Appreciate the support!
